 Atal Pension Yojana was implemented in the budget of the year 2016-17.  The purpose of this scheme was to provide protection to the poor, underprivileged and unorganized workers of the country.


 This scheme was earlier known as Swavalamban Yojana.


 To avail the benefit of Atal Pension Scheme, the beneficiary has to deposit premium in the bank / post account every month.  For which the age of the beneficiary should be between 18 years to 20 years.  After paying this premium regularly, at the age of 60, you start getting a pension of Rs.1000 to Rs.5000.

 The main benefit of this scheme is that when the beneficiary reaches the age of 60, he / she starts getting regular pension.


 Under APY scheme, the beneficiary will get a pension of Rs.1000 to Rs.2000 per month.


 The premium amount of this plan is determined on the basis of age.


 If a 15 year old beneficiary wants to get 5000 pension under this scheme, he has to deposit a premium of Rs.210 per month.


 And if the beneficiary of 20 years wants to get 2000 pension, he will have to deposit Rs. 15 per month.

 Eligibility for Atal Pension Scheme


 The following eligibility criteria have been fixed by the Government of India for the beneficiaries seeking the benefit of the scheme.


 Beneficiaries who want to avail the benefits of Atal Pension Scheme should have Indian citizenship.


 The age of the beneficiary of (APY) scheme should be 18 to 60 years.


 Beneficiary of this scheme should have bank or post savings account. This post bank account should have beneficiary's mobile number and Aadhar card link.


 The benefits of this scheme are available only to ordinary citizens.  People with government pensions are not eligible for the benefits of the Atal Pension Scheme.


 Terms of Atal Pension Scheme

 In order to avail the benefits of this scheme, the beneficiary must have a Savings Account of Bank or Post Department.


 The birth certificate or living certificate or other age documents will have to be provided to verify the age of the beneficiary.


 The installment cannot be paid in cash to pay the premium of Atal Pension Scheme.  Only debit from savings account and pay installments.


 The amount of premium will be determined based on the amount of age and pension of the beneficiary of this scheme.


 Beneficiary's Bank or Post's Savingh Account must have a balance equal to the minimum balance + premium amount.


 In Atal Pension Scheme, if the beneficiary does not pay the premium for 6 months, the account will be frozen.  If the premium is not paid within 15 months, the account will be deactivated and if the premium amount is not paid within 6 months, the account will be closed.


 In Atal Pension Yojana, after the death of the beneficiary, the amount of pension will be entitled to the person whom he has created.


 The amount of premium will be payable to the beneficiary of this scheme under section 30-c of the Income-tax Act.

 To avail the benefits of this scheme, one has to open an account of Atal Pension Scheme in a bank or post department.  For which the beneficiary should have the following documents.


 Certificate of birth date or living certificate or other proof of age.


 Aadhaar card, mobile number


 Chutni card


 Proof of address


 Passport size photo

 How To Apply For Atal Pension Yojana Online In 2022


 Atal Pension Scheme account can be opened in National Bank or from Post Office.  Or APY account can also be opened online in banks like SBI.  Whose information is given below.


 Atal Pension Yojana SBI will have to login to internet banking to apply online.


 After logging in to SBI Internet Banking, e-services have to be clicked.


 Then click on Social Security Scheme.


 Now three options named PMJJBY / PMSBY / APY will appear on this.  In which you have to click on APY (Atal Pension Scheme).


 This will open the APY ONLINE FORM.  On which your details will have to be filled.  Such as account number, name, age, address.


 Then there will be different pension options in which you will have to decide the premium based on your age. After filling all this information your account will be opened.
