2. Childhood and study
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was born on October 31, 1875 in Mosal Nadiad. His father's name was Zaverbhai and mother's name was Ladbai. Zaverbhai Swaminarayan followed the religion. He had a deep patriotism. Vallabhbhai also had these qualities of a father. Vallabhbhai was educated at Karamsad and Petlad. They have been fearless since childhood. From the time he was a student, he did not feel any injustice. He passed the District Pleader examination and started practicing law in Godhra, Borsad and Anand. With his shrewd intellect and hysteria, he became a well-known lawyer. He then went abroad to study as a barrister. There he walked 11 miles daily to the library and read for 17–17 hours as a result of which he came first in the barrister's examination and won a prize of પા 50.
3. In the freedom struggle
After becoming a barrister, Vallabhbhai returned to India. At the same time, Gandhiji arrived in India from South Africa. In the beginning Vallabhbhai used to make fun of Gandhiji. They jokingly called Gandhiji 'Potdidas'. But he soon became convinced that Gandhiji had the power to seat the people of India. He surrendered to Gandhiji. She adopted indigenous dress and Indian living. He became active in the freedom struggle. He led the Bardoli Satyagraha and forced the British government to bow down. Since then he has been nicknamed Sardar. When he was the president of the municipality of Ahmedabad, he worked hard to enhance the well-being of the people of the city and to enhance the beauty of the city. He had also presided over the Congress session. He was also jailed when he was arrested during the Dandikucha. In jail he used to recite 'Bhagavad Gita' and 'Ramayana'.
4. As Deputy Prime Minister

The task of uniting those states in the Union of India was extremely difficult. Vallabhbhai worked with love, skill, generosity and pragmatism. He instilled a sense of patriotism in the minds of the kings and annexed the states to the Union of India. He took military action against the Nizam of Hyderabad and defeated him in battle. The Nawab of Junagadh had to flee to Pakistan due to the revolt of the people. Vallabhbhai was tolerant. There was a boil in his armpit, he had put a burning rod on it to remove it. His self-control was also wonderful. Passed 10th exam in 22 year's
- It took Sardar Patel a long time to complete his schooling. He passed 10th standard examination at the age of 22.
- Due to financial constraints in the family, he took books instead of going to college and started preparing for the district collector's examination himself. He got the highest marks in this examination.
- At the age of 36, Sardar Patel went to England to study advocacy. Although he had no experience of going to college, he completed a 36-month advocacy course in just 30 months.
When news of wife's death was received
- Sardar Patel's wife Xavier Ba was suffering from cancer. He was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai in 1909.
- Xavier Ba died during the operation at the hospital. At that time, Sardar Patel was busy with court proceedings. While the discussion was going on in the court, a person wrote to him and gave him the news of Xavier Ba's death.
- Patel read this message and quietly put it in his coat pocket and continued the discussion in the court and won the case. When the court proceedings were over, he informed everyone about his wife's death.
Big brother's name in the passport
- In the year 1905, Vallabhbhai Patel wanted to go to England to study law. But the postman handed over his passport and ticket to his brother Vitthalbhai Patel.
- The initial name of both the brothers is V. Which was Patel. As Vitthalbhai was older, he decided to go to England himself at that time.
- Vallabhbhai Patel at that time gave not only his passport and ticket to his elder brother but also some money to stay in England.
Sardar Vallabhbhai and Somnath temple
- Nawab of Junagadh city decided to go with Pakistan in 1947 before independence. But India refused to accept his decision and he merged with India.
- The then Deputy Prime Minister of India Sardar Patel reached Junagadh on 12 November 1947. He ordered the Indian Army to maintain stability in the region and at the same time to rebuild the Somnath temple.
- Sardar Patel, KM Munshi and other Congress leaders went to Mahatma Gandhi with this proposal.
- It is said that Mahatma Gandhi welcomed this decision, but at the same time advised that the money spent on construction should be collected from the common people in the form of donations. Government coffers should not be used.
He breathed his last in Mumbai. He died of a heart attack. It is said that Sardar Patel was very fond of Mahatma Gandhi. He was shocked to hear the news of Gadhiji's assassination and fell ill. He later died of a heart attack. Sardar Patel was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, in 1991.
